  Struggling between a 2 and 3 star experience. First everything was clean and food was great, that's definitely a 5 star. So why 2 to 3 overall... Price. When i am paying $13 per meal and the amount of rice i get cannot even last with the amount of the dish, then i get charged extra for when asking for more rice, it just urks me. Taste of Thai is a benchmark for me located in Knoxville. If order a meal (evening meal) rice is served family style and when i want more, i ask for it... And they don't charge for it. Why because rice is cheap. Heck any other southeast Asian restaurant I've been to serves rice family style, i just assumed it would be the same. At Thai Basil, u get a small portion each of rice. And $1 up extra for each additional. I don't mind paying for good food and really good food is even easier, but I also don't like price gouging over items.

  What a wonderfully delicious meal! I've hesitated dining here because my wife isn't necessarily daring when it comes to something new, particularly when it comes to food. She loved her Pad Thai and I had Massaman Curry. It was all very delicious, as was the Thai sweet tea (holy cow that's good!) and the fried ice cream with fried banana rolls was out of this world!
  The setting is casual and nothing really fancy which is perfect for anytime dining. Prices are moderately high but worth every bite.

  Excellent, I travel 1.5 hours to eat here. The pad Thai is fabulous. The tom yum soup good but has a very strong smell from ingredients. We have never experienced anything but excellent Thai food, and we have been to Thailand.
